November 10, 2008,and I was in Costa Rica bidding farewell to Art Smiley and Ricardo Collado , two new but interesting and adventurous friends.  Both Ticos, Ricardo a native of Costa Rica and Art, an American who found happiness and an exciting life in this land of gentle people and natural riches.  Both dedicated motocycle riders!   Departing was hard but I was headed on to my adventure in  Ushuaia.  Saying goodbye, we vowed to ride together again some time in the future.

Tuesday, June 15, Art and Ricardo arrive in Texas and tomorrow we will depart on a 12,000 to 15,000 mile tour of North America,  traveling by motorcycles and sleeping mainly in tents.  Tomorrow night will find us in Leakey, Tx, then on to Big Bend, the most beautiful park in Texas.  By weeks end we should be high in the mountains of New Mexico,  enjoying the cool nights and exciting wonders of Santa Fe and Taos. Then on north and west, exploring the natural wonders of the western states.

In the weeks to come, we will ride Colorado, Nevada,  California, Oregon and Washington.  From the mountains to the coast, maybe entirety of the western coast.  North into Canada, exploring Vancouver, British Colombia, the Canadian Rockies, slowly making our way east.  Maybe the Maritime Provinces.  Certainly New England and much of the Eastern U.S.  Eventually down to Savannah, GA and slowly down to the Gulf Coast.  Much to see and much to explore over the next two months,  all with good and interesting fellow long distance riders.

Art, Ricardo and I look forward to you sharing our adventure as we live our dreams.
